JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SEEKS TO REDUCE SUICIDES AMONG NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH

March 10, 2014 (Washington D.C.)--The U.S. Justice Department has created a national task force to study impacts of violence on Native American children.  Task force members have said they are shocked to find epidemic rates of suicide among young people on reservations.

BREW HA HA PRESENTS COMEDIAN MARK CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE FROM NBC “CHUCK” SERIES MARCH 13 AT HARITNA

 

March 12, 2013 (La Mesa) – Mark Christopher Lawrence from NBC’s hit series “Chuck” will headline a Brew Ha Ha comedy show Wednesday, March 13 at Haritna Mediterranean Restaurant, 7303 El Cajon Blvd. in La Mesa. Haritna was voted best Mediterranean food in San Diego by San Diego “A” List.

A mixer begins at 6 p.m. followed by the show from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mediterranean food is available, plus hookah on the patio.

DRUG AWARENESS PRESENTATION FOR APARTMENT MANAGERS PRESENTED BY LA MESA POLICE

 
April 4, 2012 (La Mesa) -- On April 10, 2012, the La Mesa Police Department will be presenting a Drug Awareness presentation for apartment managers. Attendees will learn how to identify illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia and how to recognize symptoms of persons under the influence of drugs. This meeting is open to all La Mesa apartment managers and owners. Reservations are encouraged.

ALPINE/MOUNTAIN EMPIRE FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE FRIDAY, FEB. 3

 
January 16, 2012 (Alpine) -- The Council for Youth Empowerment, a 501 c 3 non-profit organization announces their 2012 Father-Daughter Dance on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Alpine Community Center.  Attendance is limited to the first 100 couples who apply and this event completely sells out each year.

PACIFIC SOUTHWEST RAILWAY MUSEUM PRESENTS NORTH POLE LIMITED “SANTA TRAIN” IN LATE NOV. & DECEMBER

November 14, 2011 (Campo)-- Celebrate the holidays aboard the North Pole Limited, a special production offered by the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum and volunteers in cooperation with the Mountain Empire High School and Santa Claus.

These Christmas Trains are favorites for children and adults of all ages.  This year the North Pole Limited will run on the following Fridays and Saturdays:  November 25-26, December 2-3, December 9-10 and December 16-17.
