May 2, 2022 (Vista) - A man has been arrested on suspicion of setting several fires in the North County, says Sergeant Anthony Portillo with the Sheriff’s bomb arson unit.

SHERIFF SEEKS LEADS ON SUSPICIOUS FIRES IN NORTH COUNTY

May 1, 2022 (Vista) - The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit is investigating a series of suspicious fires in the North County. 

On April 28 just before 4:00 p.m., deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a brush fire near the intersection of La Tortuga Drive and Hacienda Drive in the City of Vista.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN MURDER OF SHANNON BETZ

August 15, 2021 (Vista) - Sheriff's Homicide detectives continued their investigation and identified 22-year-old Jheran Beverson as the suspect in the murder of Shannon Betz, who was found by his roommate murdered in the 1100 block of Delpy View Point in Vista on August 8. Beverson was arrested yesterday and booked into Vista Detention Facility for one count of murder.

MISSING TEEN, 13, LAST SEEN ON SCOOTER IN VISTA

January 27, 2021 (Vista) -- The Vista Sheriff's Station wants your help in locating a missing teenager who ran away from home. Natalie Munoz, 13, was last seen just after 2:00 p.m January 26th in the 1900 block of Yettford Road in Vista.  Her family told deputies she ran away from home after she got into an argument with her father.  Munoz does not have a history of running away and did not take a cell phone with her.  It is not known where she may be headed.

MARIJUANA PLANTS SEIZED IN RAMONA AND NORTH COUNTY

 

October 3, 2013 (Ramona) – The San Diego Narcotics Task Force served search warrants and seized over 8,500 marijuana plants being grown illegally at three outdoor locations on September 24 and 25.   The crops had a cash value of $4.6 million and caused damage to an ecological preserve and open spaces, according to the Sheriff.
