February 28, 2014 (El Cajon) - El Cajon Police Department has confirmed that it is investigating allegations of potentially inappropriate behavior by a Granite Hills High School teacher involving students. The behavior is alleged to have occurred the previous school year.

TV TOTING BURGLAR BUSTED—IN STOLEN VEHICLE

 
Suspect linked to burglaries in La Mesa and Spring Valley; additional suspects sought  
 
June 19, 2012  (Spring Valley) -- Yesterday at 1:34 p.m., Lemon Grove Station deputies received a call of a residential burglary in progress. The reporting party stated that he saw four young men running out of his neighbor's residence carrying a large screen projection television. The reporting party did not know if the neighbor was home, but reported he saw the suspects load the television into a green Toyota SUV type vehicle, and drive away.

VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN FATAL LAKESIDE MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

 
June 7, 2012 (Lakeside) – Martin David Erickson, 47, of Lakeside was killed in a solo motorcycle accident June 4 at 7 p.m. According to witnesses and physical evidence, he was riding a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed on Ashwood Street north of Mapleview, when he lost control, collided with a rocky embankment and was ejected onto the roadway.

June 3, 2012 (San Diego) --San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a male in a parking lot on Friars Road near Mission Gorge Road, in the Grantville neighborhood.

7-11 CLERK ROBBED IN LA MESA

 
May 13, 2012 (La Mesa) -- On May 13, 2012, at approximately 3:36 a.m. the 7-11 Store located at 4253 Palm Ave. in La Mesa was robbed of cash by a lone male suspect who demanded money. The business was staffed by a lone clerk who was approached by an adult male suspect who had a red bandana covering his face.

March 14, 2012 (San Diego’s East County)--A recent study from Spain estimates bird mortality to be 6-18 million birds and bats annually from their 18,000 installed wind turbines with an installed capacity of 20,676 MW. This works out to a staggering total of 333-1000 birds and bats per turbine or 290-871 mortalities per MW for wind energy in Spain. In America, on the AWEA web site the reported bird death rate from wind turbines is 2.9 fatalities per MW.

14-YEAR OLD ARRESTED FOR DEATH THREATS AT LA MESA MIDDLE SCHOOL

 
March 9, 2012 (La Mesa) –A La Mesa Middle School student was arrested yesterday at his home in the unincorporated area of La Mesa for making criminal death threats against the school. Detectives are also investigating possible bullying and harssing conduct reportedly made against the suspect.

AGENTS ARREST LAST MEMBER OF SMUGGLING FAMILY IN JACUMBA

 

March 3, 2012 (Jacumba) -- Members of the Boulevard Border Patrol Station Abatement Team (BLV SAT) executed a Federal Arrest Warrant on February 19 for the notorious alien smuggler Steven Virgin Zavala.  Zavala, the last member of his family residing in the town of Jacumba, was the leader of Zavala Transnational Criminal Organization.

EL CAJON PACIFIC WESTERN BANK ROBBED: FBI BELIEVES SUSPECT IS “INSISTENT BANDIT” WANTED FOR 5 HEISTS

 

February 24, 2012 (El Cajon)-- The Pacific Western Bank at 368 Broadway was robbed on February 21at 12:49 p.m. The FBI and local law enforcement  believe he is the “Insistent Bandit” believed responsible for five bank robberies dating back to January 17, 2012.  Public help is sought to identity the suspect.
 
The robber approached a teller and stated, “This is a robbery.” He then lifted his shirt and showed the teller a handgun tucked under his waistband. The teller placed an unspecified amount of cash inside of the plastic grocery bag that he handed to her.

LAKE MURRAY CAFÉ ROBBED AT GUNPOINT

 
February 20, 2012 (La Mesa)—Two suspects, one armed with a silver handgun, forced three employees at the Lake Murray Café into the kitchen and stole their personal cash after they were unable to open the restaurant’s safe on February 17 at approximately 9:45 p.m. The suspects were last seen running westbound away from the business, located at 5465 Lake Murray Blvd. in La Mesa.

ANDERSON ASKS GOVERNOR AND ATTORNEY GENERAL TO CLEAN-UP CALTRANS

 
February 18, 2012 (Sacramento)--Senator Joel Anderson (R-El Cajon)-  has sent letters to Governor Jerry Brown and Attorney General Kamala Harris raising concerns over Cal-Trans regarding what  he terms the “Bay Bridge phony inspection” scandal at Caltrans.

The Sacramento Bee and the Mercury News ran front page stories (“Caltrans worker 'unfired,' allowed to resign”, “Caltrans wants prosecution for forged tests”) about Caltrans re-hiring Duane Wiles, the safety inspector found to be falsifying bridge safety tests, as well as the Caltrans cover-up and efforts to avoid public scrutiny,” Anderson wrote in a newsletter to constituents.
