February 21, 2014 (San Diego) There is nothing like a romantic evening outside by the porch with a fire. Well, it was not quite that. Over the last two months we have had a good dozen fires in the Fashion Valley area in San Diego. Since some have been posted on the Twitter feed, you even saw them.

HEARTLAND FIRE TRAINING FACILITY CHAMBER MIXER- THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 28 IN EL CAJON

March 26, 2013 (El Cajon) – Heartland Fire Training Facility hosts a, “Joint Chamber Mixer” this Thursday, March 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., located at 1301 North Marshall Avenue, El Cajon.

Join Chambers from throughout the East County to learn about the facility that provides ongoing fire training for the cities of El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove and Santee; the fire protection districts of Alpine, Bonita, Lakeside and San Miguel, San Diego County Fire Authority, Barona and Viejas.

A NEW FIRE CHIEF HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR HEARTLAND FIRE & RESCUE IN THE EAST

August 9, 2012 (San Diego’s East County) – The Cities of El Cajon, La Mesa and Lemon Grove, whose jointly managed fire departments make up Heartland Fire & Rescue, have selected Rick Sitta as its new Fire Chief. Sitta replaces Chief Mike Scott, who retired on July 27, 2012.
