April 16, 2020 (San Diego) — The COVID-19 pandemic is resulting in an uncertain economic environment, which is creating fear and anxiety for many. With that, scammers are out in full force actively pursuing such vulnerability, exploiting heightened anxieties and generating new fraud strains. San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®) wants to remind everyone to stay vigilant during these unprecedented times and to not fall victim to several common financial scams currently being monitored by authorities—such as loan modification and foreclosure scams, lending scams and investment related scams.

NEW WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT AT QUALCOMM STADIUM ON SATURDAY

 

July 18, 2013 (Mission Valley) – San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution with three local East County branches in El Cajon, La Mesa and Santee, is inviting the public to its SDCCU Super Shred Event featuring free document shredding services from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, July 20 at the Qualcomm Stadium northwest parking lot located at 9449 Friars Road, San Diego. SDCCU is hoping to shred the Guinness World Record for most shred paper collected in 24 hours. The current world record of 111,920 pounds of paper is held by Comerica Bank, Iron Mountain and KDFW FOX 4 in Dallas.

2 ROBBERIES SATURDAY IN LA MESA: CREDIT UNION & LIQUOR STORE ROBBED

 

February 14, 2010 (La Mesa) San Diego County Credit Union and Mart Liquor store were robbed yesterday, La Mesa Police Department reports. Police seek suspects in both cases and Crime Stoppers has announced rewards.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY CREDIT UNION WINS BBB TORCH AWARD FOR MARKETPLACE ETHICS

 

January 1, 2010 (San Diego) -- San Diego County Credit Union®, with three local East County branch offices in El Cajon, La Mesa and Santee, has been recognized for ethical business conduct with a 2009 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB). SDCCU received its Torch Award in the over-500-employee category.

 

SDCCU was one of 20 companies honored by the BBB for ethical business practices either as a 2009 Torch Award winner or finalists; however, SDCCU was the only financial institution that was recognized.

FREE DOCUMENT SHREDDING SATURDAY

October 13, 2009 (El Cajon)- To help prevent identity theft, San Diego County Credit Union has announced that free shredding services will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at its El Cajon branch, located at 312 West Main St.
