PENDLETON BLAZE NOW MAJOR BRUSH FIRE OVER 1,100 ACRES

September 15, 2012 (Oceanside) -- A major brush fire at Camp Pendleton has now charred 1,100 acres and is 50% contained. No structures are threatened, IPN reported at 7:04 p.m. 

Fire Chief Sam DiGiovanna, ECM’s “From the Chief’s Corner” columnist, advised earlier that the fire has bee moving north at a rapid rate towards Cleveland National Forest. Smoke is highly visible from both San Diego and Orange Counties.
