September 23, 2016 (San Diego) - Susan G. Komen San Diego, the County’s largest funder of free breast cancer services and support will team up with the San Diego Chargers along with Family Health Centers of San Diego, Family Medical Clinic and La Maestra to host a free mammogram event for the community. Individuals who are underinsured or uninsured are encouraged to obtain breast cancer screenings at this event.

August 4, 2015 (Washington D.C.) – A Republican-backed bill to stop all funding for Planned Parenthood nationwide has been blocked by Senate Democrats, falling seven votes short of the 50 needed or passage. Next up, the Republican leadership is threatening to shut down the government if funding the budget includes funding for Planned Parenthood, which provides birth control, mammograms, Pap smears and other women’s health services in addition to abortions.

October 10, 2012 (San Diego)– San Diego State University will co-host the “ThinkPink@SDSU” breast cancer health fair with the Helen Knoll Foundation. The event is designed to educate women aged 18 to 40 about their breast cancer prevention and early detection options. Breast cancer is 98% treatable if caught in the early stages.

October 9, 2012 (San Diego) -- San Diego State University has announced that it will be co-hosting the “ThinkPink@SDSU” breast cancer health fair with the Helen Knoll Foundation. The event is designed to educate women aged 18 to 40 about their breast cancer prevention and early detection options. It will be held in the Parma Payne Goodall ballroom from 5-7 p.m. on October 18.
