February 16, 2017 (San Diego) - Rains, possibly heavy at times, are heading back to San Diego County in the coming days, according to weather officials.

Which means that if you haven’t done it already, it’s a good time to stock up on free sand and bags to protect your home and property.

February 5, 2017 (San Diego) --The County of San Diego proclaimed a local emergency Friday, due to damage caused by the severe winter storms that hit the region late last month.

January 24, 2017 (San Diego’s East County) – “I was nearly killed by a large boulder on Friday night,” a reader told ECM, adding that multiple rock slides occurred along the highway to Ramona along the San Pasqual grade.  “The County needs to evaluate that road right now before people are killed by the boulders.”

January 20, 2017 (San Diego's East County) - San Diego County residents experiencing significant damage to their homes or businesses are requested to report it to the County Office of Emergency Services online: http://www.sdcountyrecovery.com/damages-resulting-from-disaster/

Completion of this form will assist the County and City in collecting damage information and associated costs with the series of winter storms moving through our area. Compiling total costs throughout the county will assist local governments in determining whether we might qualify for state or federal disaster recovery assistance.

COUNTY OFFERS FREE SAND, SANDBAGS BEFORE STORM

December 15, 2016 (San Diego) - With heavy rains expected, the County Department of Public Works is once again offering free sand and bags to residents in the unincorporated areas to help protect homes, neighborhoods and streets from flooding and erosion.

December 13, 2016 (San Diego’s East County) – A potentially potent storm will swing across Southern California late this week, which could bring heavy rain at high elevations, and gusty southwesterly winds in mountains, valleys, deserts and coastal areas. Dangerous conditions for small craft along coastal waters are also expected.
