March 19, 2016 (San Diego) – East County Magazine intern Tasha Matthews interviewed Rev. Kenneth Anderson, director of three prominent gospel choirs at the University of California San Diego, Grossmont College and the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir. He’s led choral tours and performances across Europe including at the Vatican. His gospel choir class at UCSD is consistently the most popular course on campus.  He’s also the fifth highest rated university professor in the nation, according to Rate My Professor.

TRIUMPHANT QUARTET, TOP SOUTHERN GOSPEL GROUP, TO PERFORM APRIL 21 IN EL CAJON

 

April 11, 2013 (El Cajon) – Triumphant Quartet, an award-winning gospel group that has performed at Carnegie Hall and been nominated for a Grammy Award, will perform on Sunday, April 21 at 5 p.m. at El Cajon Wesleyan Church. 

Formed in 2002 as the Integrity Quartet, the group changed its name in 2004 after a nationwide contest to Triumphant Quarter.  After receiving the Christian Music Presenters Artist Endorsement and certification as American Gospel Music artists, they were invited to perform in a celebration of American Gospel Music at Carnegie Hall in New York.

GOSPEL TRIO THE BOOTH BROTHERS PERFORM MARCH 24

March 17, 2012 (San Diego) – The Booth Brothers, a gospel trio, will perform at the College Avenue Baptist Church, 4747 College Avenue, San Diego at 5:00 p.m. on March 24. 

The Booth Brothers have been sharing their music since 1998. Their musical influences are from a wide range of performers-from the Eagles to the Gatlin Brothers to legendary gospel greats such as Bill Gaither and Mosie Lister.  They have received numerous awards including a Grammy nomination.

ERNIE HAAS & SIGNATURE SOUND IN CONCERT JANUARY 26


January 15, 2012 (San Diego) – Southern Gospel singers Ernie Haas & Signature Sound will be performing at the College Avenue Baptist Church, 4747 College Avenue in San Diego on January 26 at 7:00 p.m.

The vocal group, founded in 2002 and winner of three GMA Dove awards, recently finished a nine country European tour and is soon to release its first new studio album in three years.

HALLELUJAH! GOSPELFEST AT SDSU JAN. 31

 

January 27, 2010 (San Diego) -- Smith Recital Hall at San Diego State University will feature sounds of gospel music as SDSU hosts the second annual GospelFest on Sunday, Jan. 31.  Kicking off Black History Month in February, the event features groups from across San Diego County. The free event starts at 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
