Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
January 1, 2014 (San Diego's East County) - Nature and landscape photographers Ernie and Kati Cowan will lead a Cactus and Canyons photo tour to explore some of the most scenic and secret places of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park on Saturday, January 17th. This all day-hike runs from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
February 8, 2014 (San Diego County) - The Canyoneers from San Diego Natural History Museum will be leading a nature walk/hike in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park on Saturday, February 15th starting at 9:00 AM to the Indian Hill area in the park. This walk/hike is rated Moderate with a boulder scramble 6 miles up to 1000 ft elevation change.
April 2, 2013 (Borrego Springs) – The Colorado Desert Archaeology Society (CDAS) will be holding its 10th Annual Archaeology Weekend on April 6-7, 2013 from 9:00 to 5:00 at the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center in Borrego Springs, California. CDAS is a volunteer group that works with the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to document, preserve and protect its cultural resources.
The theme of this year's event is Stewardship . . . Caring for our Cultural Heritage. There will be displays, lectures, field trips, silent auction, activities for kids, archaeology lab tours, hands-on pottery making, and Native American crafts for sale.

March 25, 2012 (Anza-Borrego) – Now is the chance to stay overnight in an authentic Mongolian gers during a weekend of events that will introduce the fascinating culture of Mongolia and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park’s connection to this intriguing country.
Throughout the weekend, talks will be given on the nomadic lifestyle, Mongolian wildlife, ABDSP’s Sister Park relationship, traditional dress, games and a photo slideshow that captures the beauty of this vast country and its people.

March 9, 2011 (Anza-Borrego) -- The rains have come and gone, leaving fresh air and sunshine to blanket the majesty of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Anza-Borrego Desert Park Foundation invites you to spring into action with activities to fulfill your sense of wonder and appreciation for the park.
Upcoming activites include guided wildflower hikes, a tour of new cultural preserves within Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Vallecitos Days (which recreates life on the frontier), and more.
February 28, 2010 (Anza Borrego) – record rainfall in January and February is expected to produce a banner season for wildflowers in Anza Borrego Desert State Park.
Blooms are expected to peak through mid-March, so plan your trip east to the desert on any clear day over the next couple of weeks.
