CAPTAIN JIM REDMAN NAMED NEW POLICE CHIEF IN EL CAJON

November 16, 2011 (El Cajon)--Acting El Cajon City Manager Rob Turner has announced selection of El Cajon Police Captain Jim Redman as the City's new Police Chief. He will replace Pat Sprecco, who has served as Chief since March 31, 2008 and will retire on December 9. 

Redman has been with El Cajon's Police Department nearly 24 years, starting his career as a patrol officer back in 1988.

POLICE CHIEF’S SON SHOOTS KNIFE-WIELDING MAN IN EL CAJON

 

July 3, 2010 (El Cajon) – Responding to calls of a man chasing people with a large hunting-type knife yesterday morning, El Cajon motorcycle officer Nick Sprecco spotted the suspect in a Jack-in-the-Box parking lot at 2nd and Madison. According to police, the suspect approached the officer, knife in hand, ignoring repeated orders to halt.

GROSSMONT COLLEGE HONORS EL CAJON POLICE CHIEF IN WALK OF FAME

By Miriam Raftery May 2, 2009 (El Cajon)—El Cajon Police Chief Pat Sprecco was inducted into the Grossmont College “Walk of Fame” yesterday at a ceremony in which he was honored by Congressman Duncan D. Hunter (photo) and other local leaders. Sprecco, a 1976 graduate of Grossmont, praised his fellow police officers, then revealed that he drew inspiration from his parents--who were both law enforcement officers.

EL CAJON POLICE CHIEF JOINS GROSSMONT COLLEGE WALK OF FAME

April 28, 2009 (El Cajon)--On Friday, May 1, the Grossmont College Foundation will induct El Cajon Police Chief Pat Sprecco into their Walk of Fame for 2009. The public is cordially invited to attend the ceremonies honoring Chief Sprecco that will start at 9:00 a.m. at Grossmont College's Main Quad area; this is following the conclusion of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce First Friday Breakfast, which will begin at 7:15 a.m. at Grossmont College's Student Center. The Walk of Fame is located on campus in the Main Quad area, a short distance from the Student Center.

SUPERVISOR JACOB & AREA MAYORS TO SPEAK MAY 1 AT GROSSMONT COLLEGE

April 26, 2009 (El Cajon)--County Supervisor Dianne Jacob is scheduled to be joined by several mayors of East County cities as featured speakers at the East County Chamber of Commerce’s “First Friday Breakfast” starting at 7:15 a.m., Friday, May 1, at Grossmont College’s Student Center on the eastern side of the campus. Also speaking at the breakfast will be Barry Jantz, 2009 chairman of the San Diego East County Economic Development Council (ECEDC), sponsor of the program.
