“I took it from my back yard using a 100 X 400 mm Canon lens set on 400 mm,” he said.

VETERAN’S DAY TRIBUTE: NAVAL PILOT HONORED AT CRASH SITE IN LAKESIDE
On a dark, cloudy night in 1961, Lt. J.G. Thomas Allen Ryan, 23, crashed a Navy jet fighter plane onto a mountainside in Lakeside. Four decades later, a group of Lakeside residents hiked to the crash site to pay homage to the military pilot’s memory.

Dennis Richardson led his hiking group over rocks, through brush, over boulders and up, up a mountain to the site of an old military airplane crash site. August 29, 2010 (Campo) -- A cool breeze whistled in our ears as the Golden State Diesel- Electric train rumbled across the Campo Creek trestle, straight toward a tunnel blasted through a mountain. Three large owls soared through the darkened tunnel as we journeyed back in time.
OUT OF CONTROL PICKUP’S WILD RIDE IN SAN CARLOS

July 3, 2010 (Del Cerro) – A driver who lost control of her pickup truck Thursday missed a turn on a steep downhill road, then crashed into two homes in the 6200 block of Camino Largo near Ridge Manor Avenue. The truck entered the garage of the first home, damaged an electrical sub- panel and started a fire.
The vehicle then broke through the garage wall and jumped over a property line, slamming into a neighbor’s garage wall.

The park prides itself on education, utilizing its proximity to the outdoors to teach children. Inside the visitor’s center, the park offers views of all types of snakes in enclosures and local plants categorized on the walls.
