February 27, 2017 (Tempe, Ariz.) - Thanks to Fox Sports San Diego and our sports editor being sick, ECM got their first look at the 2017 Padres today when they faced the Los Angeles Angels in a spring training exhibition.  J.C. October 12, 2016 (San Diego) - After just three years with the Padres, the team announced this morning that president and CEO Mike Dee is stepping down, MLB.com's A.J. Cassavell reports.

In a statement released today, the team announced that the decision was made by Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler and managing partner Peter Seidler.

September 29, 2016 (San Diego) - Hunter Renfroe and Wil Myers led the Padres to a series win in a leap frog battle against the Dodgers.  It’s hard to believe, but they were going for the sweep tonight in the home series finale (and Dick Enberg’s last game) with Christian Friedrich on the mound against the rookie Juan Urias.

September 28, 2016 (San Diego) - Hunter Renfroe is officially a big leaguer after hitting two homers--one a grand slam--that led to the Padres’ 7-1 win over the Dodgers last night.  Tonight was a new game, though.  Jose De Leon started for the Dodgers against Luis Perdomo.

September 22, 2016 (San Diego) - After a good series against the Diamondbacks (albeit not getting the sweep), the Padres welcomed the Giants to Petco Park.  Jeff Samardzija would be their first pitcher to face against Christian Friedrich.

September 16, 2016 (Denver) - After sweeping the Giants for the second time this season (they’re the only team the Padres have swept this year, by the way), the Padres made their way east to Denver for another series against the Rockies.  Christian Friedrich started against Tyler Chatwood.

The Padres took advantage of their NL West friends early.  Wil Myers hit a two-run home run in the first and it was 2-0 Friars.

September 15, 2016 (San Diego) - Padres general manager A.J. Preller has been suspended for 30 days with no pay after the MLB completed an investigation into the July 14 trade of pitcher Drew Pomeranz to the Boston Red Sox.

September 12, 2016 (San Francisco) - After a fairly decent showing against the Rockies at home in which they split the series, the Padres found themselves on the road again once more.  Their first stop was in San Francisco, where they took on Jeff Samardzija and the Giants starting tonight.  Paul Clemens started for the Padres.
