SANTEE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR WINS BBB AWARD

December 20, 2012 (Santee) – The San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB) has announced that Santee resident Kay Toma, a senior attending Francis Parker High School, has been awarded a $1,500 cash scholarship from the BBB after writing a 400-word essay on the importance of ethics and integrity in the community.

June 28, 2010 (San Diego) -- The San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB) invites all local businesses, both large and small firms, to enter the 2010 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. The BBB's annual awards program honors companies that demonstrate ethical business practices. Both BBB members and non members, including for profits and non profits, are encouraged to enter the 13th annual Torch Awards competition, which matches businesses in similar size categories based on number of employees.

OIL SPILL CLEAN-UP SCAMS COULD CLEAN OUT INVESTORS' WALLETS

 


June 13, 2010 (San Diego) -- The San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB) has issued a consumer warning about potential investment scams by companies supposedly involved in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill cleanup. Some companies touting their role in the cleanup efforts may be legitimate, while others could be nothing more than bogus clean-up operations designed only to clean-out unsuspecting investors, said the BBB.

FREE LOCAL BUSINESS DIRECTORY FROM BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

The San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB) has announced that distribution has begun at about local 500 retail outlets of its 2009 Summer edition of the BBB Yellow Pages, a free, 216-page, yellow-page-type directory that includes contact information on 6,000 BBB accredited businesses, as well as consumer protection tips articles and information on how to avoid scams and make better buying decisions.
