November 21, 2011 (El Cajon)-- “This is my passion,” says Hannah Blume, 16, co-owner of the new Cowgirl Bling store in Parkway Plaza.
Her mom, Cheryl Smith, helped Hannah open the shop to bring glitzy Western wear to East County—and to provide a better future for Hannah, a student at El Capitan High School in Lakeside.
September 29, 2011 (El Cajon)—An ambulance burst into flames after oxygen tanks on board exploded late this afternoon at Westfield Parkway Plaza mall in El Cajon, according to Monica Zech, spokesperson for the city of El Cajon.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. Heartland Fire & Rescue in El Cajon responded to reports of the vehicle fire near Wal-Mart and found the ambulance fully engulfed in flames.

March 17, 2011 (El Cajon)--The St. Clair Gallery announces “Wine-Down Wednesday” at the Westfield Parkway Shopping Center at 415 Parkway Plaza in El Cajon on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 5 - 7 p.m. The gallery and the shopping center team up twice a year to host these lively receptions, during which part of the common area in Macy’s Court is sectioned off to provide an intimate locale for 150 guests to enjoy fine art, wine and refreshments.

October 27, 2010 (El Cajon) Westfield Parkway is hosting a mall-wide trick or treat event on October 31st and has partnered with the San Diego Food Bank to “Scare Away Hunger.” Anyone can bring a non-perishable food item to the Shopping Center Concierge to be eligible to trick or treat. Plus, the students of St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and The Malashock School of Dance will perform the “Thriller” dance.

September 19, 2010 (El Cajon) – A woman was robbed in the east parking structure at Parkway Plaza shopping mall on Thursday, September 16 at 11:47 a.m. by a man who also tried to carjack her vehicle. El Cajon police have released a security photo of the suspect, an African-American man, 18-25 with a muscular build and a tattoo on his neck.
March 22, 2010 (El Cajon) – A juvenile has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old man who told police he was getting into his car outside Parkway Plaza when he was robbed, then attacked.

Mall Trick or Treating is an easy way to take the little ones for out for an evening of fun. On Saturday October 31st, two local malls--Grossmont Center in La Mesa from 4 to 6 PM and Parkway Plaza in El Cajon from 3 to 5 PM--are the places to be in East County to be for a frightfully good time.

June 1, 2009 (El Cajon)—Six art pieces selected from each of 87 participating middle and elementary schools were on display at the 19th Annual Kids Art Show last month at Westfield Parkway. Cookies accompanied a reception in the mall, just around the corner from Macy’s. Each artist received a blue ribbon, including Sophia Coseip, whose artwork is shown in the photo above.
