May 19, 2012 (San Diego)—When Medi-Cal cut Raul Carranza’s round-the-clock nursing care, the paralyzed student feared for his future.  “Please join us so we can stop these cuts and save not only my life, but thousands of others,”  Carranza said at the time, organizing rallies in an effort to restore in-home healthcare services.

October 20, 2011 (El Cajon)--You have probably seen them, all those guys riding around in the fire engines with moustaches. Has anybody told them moustaches have been out of fashion since the final episode of Magnum P.I. in 1988?

FIREFIGHTERS ASK PUBLIC TO “FILL THE BOOT” FOR JERRY’S KIDS

 

August 25, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – Local firefighters will be participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual “Fill the Boot” campaign, raising money to help find a cure for the crippling disease. On September 2, watch for local firefighters stationed around the County to coincide with the annual Labor Day telethon hosted by actor Jerry Lewis for muscular dystrophy.
