OLD POWAY PARK HOSTS OLD-FASHIONED INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION—TURN-OF-THE CENTURY STYLE

June 22, 2017 (Poway) – Experience an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration complete much as people at the end of the 1900s would have done.  The fun includes patriotic entertainment, gun fighting reenactments and rides on a historic railway train—as well as tasty treats, crafts, old-fashioned games and entertainment at Old Poway Park (14134 Midland Road, Poway) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

OLD WEST COMES ALIVE AT OLD POWAY PARK JULY 4

June 11, 2016 (Poway) - Bring your family and friends to Old Poway Park (14134 Midland Road in Poway) and celebrate our country’s independence “turn-of-the-20th-century-style” on Monday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event will feature patriotic entertainment, gun fighting re-enactments, crafts, and old-fashioned games (all free) amid restored buildings and museums from the early 1900s.  You can also take a ride aboard an old-fashioned train or savor tasty treats (for a nominal fee).

ALL ABOARD! STEAM TRAIN RIDES, SQUARE DANCING & DIXIELAND JAZZ AT OLD POWAY PARK’S INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

 

 

July 4, 2011 (Poway) –Decked out with red and blue bunting on wooden railway bridges, water tower and gazebo/bandstand, Old Poway Park today looked like a scene straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. The Old West-themed park exemplifies the best of Americana this 4th of July, compete with rides on the Baldwin steam train (watch for train robbers), a Dixieland jazz band, square dancing, quilting show/contest and craft show—plus two-acres of picnic grounds and family-oriented activities such as three-legged races.

FREE BARN DANCE! SWING YOUR PARTNER SEPT. 11 IN POWAY

 

September 8, 2010 (Poway) – Grab your partner and head on out to Old Poway Park, where a free barn dance will be held on Saturday, September 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. Bring your dancing shoes, participate in free traditional dance lessons, and dance the evening away to toe-tapping western music.

HOBO CAMPFIRE SING-A-LONG SEPT. 10 IN OLD POWAY PARK

 

September 6, 2010 (Poway) -- What could feel more like the Old West than sitting around a campfire singing songs and listening to storytelling? On September 10th, the City of Poway and the Old Poway Park Action Committee will host a hobo campfire sing-along from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Old Poway Park on the banks of Rattlesnake Creek.
