June 26, 2010 (La Mesa) – Now you can support La Mesa’s business community and have a chance to win a brand new 2010 Honda CR-V LX car---the grand prize in the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s “Drive Away Raffle.”
 
The car, donated by DCH Honda of Lemon Grove, has a value of $22,255—or the lucky winner may opt to take $15,000 in cash instead. Second and third prizes of $2,000 and $1,000 cash will also be given away.

This includes items that you have copied, scanned, printed or faxed. Unless the hard drive is scrubbed, thousands of your documents could wind up in the hands of unscrupulous people when you dispose of a digital copying machine.
 

SECOND ANNUAL TASTE OF LA MESA

April 21, 2010 (La Mesa) -- The second annual Taste of La Mesa will take place on May 17th at the La Mesa Community Center from 5:30-8:30 pm.

Taste the best from restaurants and food providers from our area, and enjoy music, raffles, prizes and more.

The event is co-sponsored by the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Gio Bistro Wine Bar.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance, or $35 at the door if available.

April 1, 2010 (La Mesa) -- In these days with everyone looking for bargains, cutting out discount offers from local newspapers, and printing out on-line coupons, the La Mesa Chamber refuses to be outdone. The organization is offering a unique two-for-one offer unheard of in the hemisphere - two of its CEO, Mary England to do the job of the past “one” Mary England. That's right - two of Mary England instead of one.

 

The Chamber is in negotiations right now to clone England at a laboratory in Northern California. The location of this cloning procedure cannot be revealed as not to draw attention to this process that is not embraced by everyone.

AT&T UPGRADES HISTORIC LA MESA BUILDING

 

December 20, 2009 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting earlier this month to celebrate AT&T’s aesthetic enhancements  to its building at the corner of La Mesa Boulevard and Spring Street. Those enhancements included addition to the building's exterior of tiled mosaics depicting scenes from the company’s history.

LA MESA OKTOBERFEST GEARING UP FOR BIGGEST CELEBRATION YET

September 30,2009 (La Mesa) – Friday, Saturday and Sunday, more than 200,000 people are expected to flock to downtown La Mesa for one of East County’s biggest annual celebrations: La Mesa 36th Annual Oktoberfest. This year, watch for some new attractions—and the return of an old favorite.


By popular demand, the big beer garden is back—along with traditional German foods and music including a Bavarian band the Gemutlichkeit Dancers. But there are also some changes—including Sunday afternoon rock and roll music by the Heroes, one of San Diego’s most popular rock groups, plus new food options ranging from shaved ice to hamburgers.

September 4, 2009 (San Diego’s East County)—This Labor Day weekend marks the beginning of a fun-filled month of festivals and other fantastic events in San Diego’s East County. Here’s our guide to the year’s most diverse array yet of unique and mostly free or low –cost activities.
 
Start by rocking out to the season’s last Concerts on the Green in El Cajon tonight. Then savor the waning days of Indian summer at a Native American pow-wow at Barona Reservation Friday through Sunday, Sept. 4-6.  On Saturday, Sept. 5, bare your toes and jump in for the Julian Grape Stomp at the Menghini Winery (photo)—then cap off the night at Ramona Main Stage, where Back to the 80z presents a Prom Night concert.  Can't get enough of all that wine-making merry-making?  Ramona-based Hacienda de Las Rosas will hold a "Stomping of the Grapes" fest outside its Old Town tasting room on Labor Day, Sept. 7.

TEE OFF SEPT. 24 TO BENEFIT CAMP HOPE, HELP ABUSED CHILDREN

 

August 17, 2009 (La Mesa) -- For the past 6 years, a golf tournament has been held to support Camp Hope, a 13-acre site at the base of Lake Sutherland in the foothills of Ramona. This camp is a summer place for physically and emotionally abused children. This year, the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce will host and produce this annual event at Steele Canyon Golf Club on September 24.

July 23, 2009 (La Mesa) – “When we started out a year ago, they said this couldn’t be done,” La Mesa Chamber of Commerce President Mary England told a hungry crowd at the La Mesa Community Center. The Chamber’s first annual “Taste of La Mesa” event drew more than 350 visitors, 25 restaurants and over two dozen additional vendors.

June 16, 2009 (La Mesa) -- Gio Bistro Wine Bar and the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce invite area residents to savor the first annual "Taste of La Mesa" event. Sample fare from many of the La Mesa area’s finest restaurants and food while savoring an East County evening complete with music, food and drinks. The event will to be held at the La Mesa Community Center 4975 Memorial Drive in La Mesa from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
