SEWAGE SPILL NEAR LAKESIDE RESULTS IN WATER CONTACT CLOSURE FOR LOS COCHES CREEK

March 19, 2017 (San Diego's East County)--An estimated 900,000 gallon sewage spill was identified Friday, March 17th at Los Coches Creek near East Sierra Alta Way in unincorporated El Cajon, the County announced today. The sewage entered the creek after an underground sewer pipe became exposed and significantly damaged during the February 27th storms.

November 11 (2011) -- The community is invited to join “America Recycles Day” on Tuesday, Nov. 15, with a neighborhood cleanup and recycling event, which follows an all day “EnviroFair” for students at Los Coches Creek Middle School in Blossom Valley.

MUSIC VIDEO: STORMY WEATHER SWELLS LOS COCHES CREEK

 

 

December 23, 2010 (San Diego's East County)-- Videographer Billy Ortiz traveled to Flinn Springs Park yesterday, capturing storm-swelled headwaters of Los Coches Creek.  He spliced yesterday's shots together with some October images of areas further downstream, including a spectacular waterfall at the long forgotten Los Coches dam in Lakeside.  Then he added a soundtrack to create this one-of-a-kind music video.  Enjoy!
