March 16, 2013 (San Diego)--Mayor Bob Filner has launched the City’s first ever Open Government web pages. The newly created web pages are another step by Mayor Filner to provide easier access to documents the public has a right to and need to know.
“The public has a right to know what their government is doing, and why,” said Mayor Filner. “This information will help make it easier for the public to participate and find documents.”

In this case to uphold processes involving consultation when construction projects impact historic grounds, where there was a village, burials, where there is an area historically, or in the present day used by Native peoples, in spiritual or traditional practices.

POWER LINE UPGRADE TO IMPACT TRAFFIC FLOW IN SANTEE
February 19, 2013 (Santee)--Motorists will have to be cautious along Magnolia Avenue and Mast Boulevard for the next several months because of a major construction project by San Diego Gas & Electric. Crews will be replacing wood and steel poles with galvanized steel and concrete poles.
The project footprint will span 11 miles from the utility’s Sycamore substation to the Santee substation near Mast Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue. According to the City of Santee’s website, the infrastructure upgrades are necessary to service the expansion of the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility and to improve power circuit stability.
GROSSMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT WRAPS UP SUMMER WITH UPDATE ON BOND PROJECTS
October 2, 2012 (East County, San Diego) -- As summer 2012 comes to an end for students, many projects are also ending as part of the Propositions H and U school bond program. June 15, 2012 (San Diego)—Approval by voters of Proposition B, which eliminates guaranteed pensions for many city employees, has drawn praise from conservatives and sharp criticism from labor. So has Prop A, which eliminates Project Labor Agreements for construction projects on city property.
HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION MONITORING GROUP SEEKING THREE ADDITIONAL MEMBERS
June 16, 2012 (La Mesa)--The volunteer citizens group monitoring construction improvement projects at Grossmont Hospital is looking for three additional members. The openings are due to one existing vacancy and two other members’ terms of service expiring June 30.
The Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (ICBOC) monitors the expenditures of voter-approved bond proceeds that are providing financing for a number of capital improvement construction projects at the hospital in La Mesa. Its members are East County residents with experience in project management, construction operations, finance and healthcare industries.

When faced with difficult financial hardship due to the crashed economy and medical bills, they went to their lender to negotiate in good faith.
Antonio works in construction and Africa has a business she runs from her home office. They were late on just one mortgage payment by 60 days, and ultimately made the payment. They learned there were government programs like the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) and the Principal Reduction Alternative (PRA).
COUNTY PLANNERS DEAL BLOW TO WIND INDUSTRY

May 13, 2012 (San Diego)—San Diego’s Planning Commission voted unanimously to have staff evaluate health impacts of wind turbines on people and wildlife. Commissioners balked at approving a proposed county wind ordinance or changes to the Boulevard community plan that could make it easier to gain approval of large-scale wind projects—taking the sails out of the wind industry.

The construction is scheduled to take place at night, between the hours of 9:00p.m. and 6:00a.m. beginning April 1, 2012. Construction activities will occur Sunday night through Thursday night. The work is expected to take 3 weeks to complete.
