TSA EXTENDS FACE MASK REQUIREMENT ON ALL PUBLIC TRANSIT THROUGH JANUARY 18, 2022

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is extending the face mask requirement for individuals across all transportation networks throughout the United States, including at airports, onboard commercial aircraft, on over-the-road buses, and on commuter bus and rail systems through January 18, 2022.

On January 31, TSA announced the initial face mask requirement with an expiration date of May 11. On April 30, TSA announced an extension to the face mask requirement through September 13, 2021 amid a surge in the Delta variant of COVID-19.

New U.S. airport screening procedures for carry-on bags to better focus on threats

July 26, 2017 (Washington D.C.)-- To ensure the security of airline passengers and the nation’s airports, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is implementing new, stronger screening procedures for carry-on items that require travelers to place all electronics larger than a cell phone in bins for X-ray screening in standard lanes. Following extensive testing and successful pilots at 10 airports, TSA plans to expand these measures to all U.S. airports during the weeks and months ahead. NAKED BODY SCANS AT AIRPORTS TO BE PHASED OUT
