September 23, 2011 (La Mesa) – A 16-year-old girl was punched repeatedly in the face and robbed of her cell phone by two women Tuesday afternoon. The attack occurred at a bus stop in the 8100 block of Allison--the same block where La Mesa's Police station is located.

Police said both assailants were black women, 21-24 years old. One wore an orange and white sun dress, stands 5 feet 9 inches tall, and is thin with neck-length black hair.  The other wore a black halter top and blue jeans, is about 5 feet 1 inch, has a heavy build, and has black short hair and purple bangs.

The incident was not reported until three hours later. While waiting for a bus, the victim was “approached by two black females who demanded her cell phone,” said a Police Department press release. “One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s phone and wallet while the other punched her several times in the face. The suspects were last seen walking southbound toward the trolley.”

The victim suffered a scratch and bruise to her head/face area but didn’t require medical attention, police Lt. Dan Willis said Wednesday morning, La Mesa Patch reported. Besides an iPhone, an iPod was taken—for an estimated total loss worth $680.

“She walked home after the incident, then returned 2 1/2 hours later at 7:30 to the Police Department to report the incident,” Willis said. “[It’s] unknown at this time why she did not report it right away.”

Patch reports that four thefts and a vandalism have been reported in the same block of Allison over the past year.
