September 12, 2011 (San Diego) – Thunderstorms and rains are likely to strike San Diego County tomorrow, with the highest likelihood of storms in East County’s mountain and desert areas. These storms have the potential to produce hail, frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds, the National Weather Service predicts.
“When you hear thunder, move inside immediately,” the NWS office in San Diego cautions. “Lightning can be deadly.”
Thuderstorms may also produce flash flooding, particularly in steep canyons and recently burned areas.
