October 19, 2016 (San Diego) - I can’t wait to get my hands on this book, as the author, an El Cajon resident has indicated to me just today that she will be mailing it out to me for my review in the East County Magazine. She will also appear on our “East County Magazine Live!” radio show to be interviewed with all the salacious details of this book. A Foreign Affair has all the ingredients of true love and intrigue in a foreign country, which the author describes as “love at first sight” between herself, as a U.S. Navy Analyst, and her Iraqi translator Fahdi, in war-torn Iraq.

Amanda Matti, this East County (San Diego) resident, tells a riveting story, just from the press release itself, which I can’t wait to review for our readers. Amanda and Fahdi defy governments and cause international scandal as they fight for justice and love.

U.S. Navy veteran Amanda Matti's debut book is now available at Amazon.com from W & B Publishers. Far from your conventional military memoir, this sweeping Iraq War memoir tells the story of a forbidden romance between a female U.S. service member and her Iraqi translator. A unique account that turns the tables on the common "war bride" tale and stands as a testament that true love can blossom under the bleakest of conditions.

Matti knows that she may be forced to choose between her Iraqi translator's love and her career, but actually finds herself at the center of an international criminal investigation spearheaded by a trifecta of government agencies - the NSA, CIA and NCIS. Spurred by a draconian double-standard, investigators quickly compile a speculative list of offenses Matti may have committed as a result of her personal relationship with an Iraqi national. Stay tuned!
