March 15, 2016 - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday issued a warning to Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders:  "Be careful, Bernie."

The warning comes after Trump accused Sanders' campaign of organizing protests that shut down a Trump rally in Chicago on Friday.

Trump tweeted a sinister warning on Sunday morning, which Sanders was asked about.  He had this to say in reply:  "“We should take Mr. Trump’s words with a grain of salt, because I think as almost everybody knows, this man cannot stop lying about anything…to talk about our organization or our campaign disrupting his meeting is a lie.  Some of them were supporters of mine, but certainly, absolutely, our campaign had nothing to do with disrupting his meeting.”

Sanders went on to say that Trump is fostering an environment that encourages violent clashes.

Trump blamed "thugs who shut down our First Amendment rights" for shutting down his rally on Friday, where fights broke out before Trump even took the podium.  According to Chicago police, five people were arrested and two officers were injured.

At a North Carolina Trump rally, a supporter was arrested for assault for punching a protester.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton has joined Sanders in condemning the violence at Trump rallies.

“I know that everybody in public life gets protested against and sometimes people do need to be removed, but it should be done in an appropriate manner,” Clinton said on MSNBC. “Other people in the audience should not be joining in. Mr. Trump should not be urging people on.”

These are not the only two instances of violence at Trump rallies.  In October, a Latino protester was kicked and immigration activists were shoved and spit on.  In November, a black protester was punched, kicked and briefly choked.  In February, ECM reported that a Time Magazine photographer was slammed to the ground.

Trump refused to fix the problem, calling Sanders and Clinton "phony politicians" on Twitter.  “I have no objection to what I said,” Trump said of past statements at his rallies. “I would say it again.”
