Volunteers needed in East County and Tierrasanta

July 8, 2015 (San Diego’s East County)--Some friendships take years to grow, but when Little Brother Juan-Antonio met his Big Brother Jay in 2012 through Big Brothers Big Sister’s Operation Big program, the pair hit it off immediately. Operation Bigs is a one-to-one mentoring program for military children ages 7-17, the first of its kind in the nation.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR COMMUNITY PLANNING GROUP SERVING RANCHO SAN DIEGO, MT. HELIX & CASA DE ORO

 

Application deadline is July 3, 2015

May 25, 2014 (San Diego’s East County)--The Community Planning Group for Rancho San Diego, Mt. Helix and Casa de Oro needs volunteer members to represent the community in planning and land use issues. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. It is a fifteen member advisory body reporting to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Applicants must be registered voters residing in the community.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO REPLANT ALPINE CREEK WITH NATIVE PLANTS NOV. 15 AND 22

 

November 10, 2014 (Alpine) – The Back Country Land Trust (BCLT) and the Endangered Habitats Conservancy are looking for volunteers to help restore the watershed along Alpine Creek and Alpine Boulevard.  On Saturday, November 15th and 22nd, volunteers will help plant native trees, shrubs, and ground-cover species to enhance native habitat along this important wildlife corridor through Alpine.  Here are details provided by the BCLT:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: HELP EL CAJON BUILD A PLAYGROUND AT WELLS PARK JUNE 5 AND 7

 

May 7, 2014 (El Cajon) - The City of El Cajon needs volunteers to help with the assembly of a one-of-a-kind, customized playground at Wells Park on June 5th and June 7th.  The existing playground at Wells Park is in need of replacement. A new playground will provide youth with a new area to play and have fun.
