May 3, 2016 (Warner Springs) – Extensive vandalism forced closure today of the entire Warner Unified School District complex, which includes elementary through high school classrooms as well as district offices. The district's website states it hopes to reopen soon and will notify parents when children can return to school.
A maintenance worker arriving at work Wednesday morning discovered the damage, which included graffiti, broken windows, classrooms ransacked, furniture overturned and fire extinguishers discharged. The worker called Sheriff’s deputies at 5:15 a.m.
“The cost of the repairs will total several thousands of dollars,” says Sergeant Carlos Medina.
The school’s resource deputy is handling the investigation.
Authorities seek leads to learn who was responsible for the vandalism. If you have any information, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888)-580-8477. You can remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest in this case.
