WELLS FARGO BANK ROBBED IN LA MESA

July 6, 2013 (La Mesa) – A stocky suspect with a mustache robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 5610 Lake Murray Boulevard in La Mesa yesterday at 4:32 p.m.

According to La Mesa Police, the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller counter, and produced a demand note. After the teller complied, the suspect left the bank on foot and was last seen going northbound from the bank into the parking lot.

Officers searched the surrounding areas but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a white male adult, in his 50s, approximately 5’7”, with a heavy build. He was wearing dark sunglasses, a collared grey shirt, and tan pants. He was also carrying a greenish colored cloth bag, similar to a reusable grocery bag. The suspect had graying hair, described as salt and pepper, and a mustache.

La Mesa Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating this robbery and the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department or the FBI.
