June 5, 2011 (El Cajon) – Thirty oil and acrylic paintings featuring wildlife from Africa, North America and Asia are on exhibit in a solo show by artist Gloria Chadwick during  June at the El Cajon Library.  Located at 201 East Douglas in El Cajon, the library is open seven days a week.

The artist has traveled to Africa and many national wildlife reserves to obtain painting resource material for her vivid and compelling works.

One of her paintings, a barn owl (above image) is currently on tour across the US as part of the Birds in Art exhibit. Her painting was selected out of 922 paintings to be one of the chosen 100 for the open

ing show. Out of those 100 paintings, 60 were chosen for the tour. Her model is a barn owl owned by Sky Hunters, a local predatory bird rehabilitation center.
