April 20, 2012 (San Diego) — San Diego’s original fine art festival, Mission Federal ArtWalk is back for its 28th year. Featuring artists who live in the East County area as well as San Diego, the event will be held on Saturday and Sunday , April 28 and 29, when 17 blocks of Little Italy will be transformed for this free festival. ArtWalk offers a unique opportunity for members of the public to engage directly with over 350 artists who will be there to display their original works for exhibit and sale. The art on display will include a wide range of paintings, sculpture, mosaics, glasswork and photography.
In addition to the 350 artists on site, six stages will provide entertainment with live music performances and performing arts. KidsWalk will also be on site providing more than 20 free interactive activities for kids including painting, performing arts, and music workshops, making it a great idea for a family day out. New to 2012 is “Dance on the Edge” an event within the event! Choreographer Peter Kalivas will bring in dozens of dance performers from San Diego based dance companies presenting a variety of styles over the course of the festival totaling 14 hours of live performances.

“After a twenty year career as a doll designer specializing in product development it was time for a new adventure. Touring local schools with his Paint in Motion performances, Stephan hopes to raise awareness to lead the next generation to save the many habitats and animals that are being threatened.
