May 21, 2026 (Borrego Springs) — The historic Borrego Sun is expanding into a continuously updated digital community media platform delivering free online access to local news, weather updates, events, tourism information, community features, social media content, and things to do throughout Borrego Springs and surrounding desert communities.
The expanded digital platform combines the longstanding journalism legacy of the Borrego Sun with the community-focused online resources of GoToBorregoSprings.com.
Founded in 1949, the Borrego Sun has served Borrego Springs for more than 75 years. The publication is now being expanded by Ram Media Foundation into a modern digital platform designed to provide community information and storytelling 24 hours a day.
“Our goal is to create a trusted digital gathering place for Borrego Springs,” said Foundation Director Gabriel Wisdom of American Money Management, LLC. “People should be able to quickly find local news, events, weather, activities, and community information anytime on their mobile devices or at home, whenever and wherever that may be.”
Executive Director Andrea McKenna said the expanded platform strengthens both local journalism and community engagement.
“By combining trusted journalism with dynamic digital storytelling and social media, we can better connect our community and share Borrego’s story more broadly,” McKenna said. “BorregoSun.com will provide critical and essential information 24/7.”
The digital platform also supports local businesses, nonprofit organizations, tourism, arts and culture, and regional events while helping preserve the community-focused mission that has defined the Borrego Sun for generations.
In addition to digital publishing, Ram Media Foundation operates KRAM 90.5 FM, a non-commercial radio station carrying public media programming and information services to Borrego Springs.
Ram Media Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to strengthening community through journalism, storytelling, public media access, education, social media, and creative communication. The Borrego Sun, GoToBorregoSprings.com and KRAM 90.5 FM are located at 730 Christmas Circle, Borrego Springs.
