April 25, 2026 (Lemon Grove) – Lemon Grove resident Eric Nunez, 33, has been arrested on April 23 and charged with murder. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, died of injuries after being shot in the 2100 block of Eldora Street in Lemon Grove on April 23 shortly after 4 a.m.
Deputies from the the Lemon Grove and Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Stations responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. They detained Nunez, who was in the driveway. After entering the home, they found the victim suffering from significant traumatic injuries. Lifesaving measures were initiated, and paramedics were requested. Despite these efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Nunez was booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
The circumstances and motive surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Based on information gathered thus far, this appears to be an isolated incident, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s department, and there is no known threat to the community.
