May 9, 2026 (Alpine) — Lions Tigers & Bears, Southern California’s premier accredited big cat and bear sanctuary, is holding its signature fundraising gala, Wild in the Country later this month.

The event is set to take place from 1 to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 30 at 24402 Martin Way, the organization’s 142-acre ranch in Alpine.

As the only fully accredited facility of its kind in the region, LTB serves as a lifelong haven for more than 60 animals rescued from lives of abuse, neglect and the exotic animal trade.

The annual event brings critical financial assistance to the nonprofit. Ticket prices ranging from $165 to $375.

On the edge of the Cleveland National Forest, LTB provides a naturalistic habitat for all of its animals. Unlike facilities that profit from animal exploitation, LTB is a strict no-breed sanctuary dedicated to rehabilitation and education.

“Wild in the Country brings together animal lovers, community supporters, and advocates for a magical afternoon,” said Bobbi Brink, founder and director of Lions Tigers & Bears. “Proceeds directly support the lifelong care of our rescued animals and help fund critical rescue missions, medical care, and habitat improvements. By attending, you play a vital role in giving these animals a second chance at life.”

The fundraiser promises an immersive experience for guests, blending high-end hospitality with the natural beauty of San Diego’s countryside.

Attendees will enjoy behind-the-scenes access with the rare opportunity to visit the animals and learn about their rescue stories; fine dining provided by Bekker’s Caterers and three full bars; live entertainment by steel drum performers, a green screen photo booth and free casino-style games; and a live auction featuring a live painting by artist Amy Burkman; a Winter Park, Colorado getaway; an African photo safari and a San Diego Harbor cocktail cruise for six.

The event’s silent auction will offer items including stays at The Bay Club Hotel & Marina, golf at Carlton Oaks Country Club and private in-home international wine tastings.

For more than two decades, LTB has operated with the the idea that it’s about “People helping animals, and animals helping people,” Brink said.

The funds raised at the event will sustain daily operations, including specialized veterinary care and nutrition for the lions, tigers and bears at LTB.

“Together, we can save lives and ensure a brighter future for wildlife everywhere,” Brink said.
