December 20, 2023 (Jamul)—"We’re shell-shocked!” CalFire San Diego posted on  Instagram. “A family who was missing their pet, ‘Mr. T’, for approximately one month, was ecstatic when staff from #CALFIRE San Diego found him while completing fuel reduction work near Hollenbeck Canyon Wildlife Area.”  The preserve is located in Jamul.

Fuels Crew Equipment Operator Cameron Will was able to carry Mr. T, who weighed in at a whopping 150 pounds, to a dozer tender. Heavy Fire Equipment Operator Gary Will drove him to the fire house.

Fortunately, Cal Fire was able to find the owners via flyers that the family had put out.

Mr. T’s owners were thrilled to see him again as they have owned him for about 20 years, since the size of a hand,” Cal Fire’s post concludes. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to reunite him with his family after his slow-paced adventure!”
