July 20, 2023 (Alpine) – Alpine resident and realtor Steven Sladek was recently honored with the Realtor of the Year award from the Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR), one of San Diego County’s largest real estate trade organizations for San Diego-area realtors.

The award was presented at PSAR’s recent R.E.A.L. awards gala (R.E.A.L. is an acronym for Real Estate, Achievements and Leadership). More than 450 people attended the R.E.A.L. awards gala held at the Sycuan Casino and Resort.

PSAR said Sladek was recognized for his support and involvement with the association, as well as ongoing contributions to the community and real estate profession. He has been active in mentoring several dozen new real estate sales agents over the past several years.

“I’m an open book when it comes to sharing systems, procedures and operations with other agents,” Sladek said. “I wish someone would have helped me like this when I first entered real estate sales.”

Sladek also was recognized for his involvement with PSAR’s Young Professionals Network (YPN), PSAR said. PSAR’s YPN focuses on connecting and engaging the next generation of realtors with the tools and encouragement they need to succeed. Sladek served as YPN vice-chair in 2021 and 2023, and as chair in 2022.

Sladek, 33, earned his real estate sales license in 2019 and promptly began attending PSAR events. Prior to real estate, he worked in the construction, automotive and sales training industries. The San Diego native graduated from Steele Canyon High School in 2009, and from San Diego State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. His family includes wife Taryn and two daughters, ages 4 and 1.
