In San Diego County 300,000 families lack economic security. Many of these families may technically have access to education, food and housing but in very real terms their wages do not afford them the ability to truly attain the American dream.

We can turn the tides on poverty and racial injustice in San Diego in part by building a more inclusive economy. But we must first engage our friends, neighbors, co-workers and social connections. The more we share Dr. King’s dream, the more we can create a unified vision that the region can work toward to improve the overall quality of life for all San Diegans.
