Cooked vs. Uncooked Spaghetti, by Dr. Tania Hormozi, PSYD, LMFT (Made in the USA, Muncie, IL., July, 2023, 137 pages).
Book Review by Dennis Moore
January 12, 2024 (San Diego) - Dr. Tania Hormozi is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in San Diego, California for over 10 years. She holds a Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and a Master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is in private practice and provides therapy to individuals and mostly couples. She helps clients gain perspective, understanding, and identify solutions to problems using their own strengths and skills.
With those credentials one would think that she could have saved my marriage. After reading this book(s), you will have a better understanding of the differences between men and women, how to listen, how to express feelings, and be supportive emotionally, mentally, and physically for your female and/or male partners, and reconnect on a different level. You will have the tools to understand and truly connect with your partner. Wishful thinking!
Dr. Hormozi actually uses Cooked vs. Uncooked Spaghetti as a tantalizing metaphor, women as cooked and men as uncooked!
The author uses a lot of mind games, such as Consistency: “If you are persistent, you will get it, If you are consistent, you will keep it.” It really does make a lot of sense if you think about it! Being a man, she really got me to thinking and put a lot on my mind.
She gives a lot of sage advice in both of her books, such as: “Both partners compromise, learn, and change as needed.” This is what she means in a passage entitled TWO-WAY STREET.
Cooked vs. Uncooked Spaghetti is a framework for understanding how men and women think in relationships. A self-help guide geared towards men, it provides a fresh perspective, just like the first book to how women think and act in relationships. Written from a woman’s perspective – the Spaghetti framework helps men understand how a woman thinks, feels, and acts in a relationship: as well as understanding how women perceive situations in dating, relationships, and marriages. This book will also clear up any stereotypes, myths, and ideas men have about women “being crazy”, or any other statements women typically hear that are insensitive and not empowering to who they are and what they bring to a relationship.
This really is a lot to digest, and I trust my male bias does not come out!

Or, you can believe in that old adage: “Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars.” This is a book that I highly recommend.
