May 25, 2026 (Spring Valley) – A Spring Valley man who is prohibited from owning firearms has been arrested after a search found un-serialized “ghost” guns, ammunition, and gun parts in various stages of manufacture.

Detectives from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station, with assistance from the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SWAT team) served a search warrant on April 21 at a residence in the 2800 block of Glen Canyon Circle in Spring Valley. The search was part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal manufacture of un-serialized firearms.

The suspect, Jason Jefferson, 52, was present at the residence at the time the warrant was served, according to Sergeant Gerardo Mateus. “Jefferson is a prohibited person and is legally barred from owning or possessing firearms,” Sgt. Mateus states in a press release.

Jefferson was taken into custody without incident and booked into San Diego Central Jail on charges related to firearm violations. This investigation remains ongoing.
