“HOLIDAY IN THE COUNTRY…FOLLOW THE RAMONA WINE TRAIL” 3 WEEKENDS IN DECEMBER

December 2, 2017 (Ramona) -- Participating wineries from the Ramona Valley Vineyard Association (RVVA) are featuring a  “Holiday in the Country” when you “Follow the Ramona Wine Trail” in the heart of San Diego Wine Country during the first three weekends of December: 2/3, 9/10, and 16/17.

Wine fans can visit 14 wineries decked out for the holidays. In addition to discounted tastings, individual wineries are presenting their own selected special holiday happenings to accompany tasting, such as tree lighting ceremony, tree trimming, holiday music, crafters’ goods for a little shopping, signed magnum bottles, and the introduction of white wines for a White Christmas theme. Santa is also expected to hover.

For a nominal fee of $10 per person valid for all three weekends, tasters will receive a commemorative keepsake wine glass, a special RVVA ornament, an official Holiday Wine Trail map of participating wineries, and discounted wine tastings at each winery.

Participating wineries include: Castelli Family Vineyards (for Dec. 2/3 only), Hatfield Creek Vineyards and Winery, Highland Hills Vineyard and Winery, La Finquita Winery and Vineyard, Lenora Winery, Mahogany Mountain Vineyard & Winery, Pamo Valley Winery, Poppaea Vineyard, Principe di Tricase, Ramona Ranch Vineyard & Winery, Schwaesdall Winery, Turtle Rock Ridge Vineyard Winery, Vineyard Grant James, Woof’n Rose Winery.

To purchase a Holiday Wine Trail Passport at $10 per person, go to www.ramonavalleyvineyards.com. Once you have made a payment, your name will be added to the Holiday Wine Trail list.  Purchasers can pick up wine glass, passport/map, list of happenings, and holiday ornament at either of the two following wineries.

If you are unable to, or prefer not to purchase on-line, please send a check for $10 per person to: Ramona Holiday Wine Trail, 16980 Sky Valley Dr., Ramona, CA 92065

and we will add your name to the list. Again, you can pick up your passport/map package at one of the two following wineries. The passport is good for all three weekends.

Tasters can receive their passport package at either of the following two wineries:

  1. Principe di Tricase, 18425 Highland Valley Road, Ramona, California, 92065 from noon to sunset on any of the three weekends
  2. Turtle Rock Ridge Vineyard Winery, 18351 Woods Hill Lane, Ramona, CA from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on any of the three weekends.

The Ramona Valley Vineyard Association (RVVA) was founded in 2001 and dedicated “to promote, protect and enhance the Ramona Valley American Viticulture Area (AVA), our wines, vintners and community.” Largely responsible for securing the Ramona Valley AVA in 2006, the RVVA continues to focus on community, education, sustainable operation of vineyards and wineries, and taking a leadership role within the San Diego County wine grape industry.
