ARMED ROBBERY AT WALMART IN GROSSMONT CENTER POLICE SEEK SUSPECT WEARING ANGELS CAP

August 27, 2015 (La Mesa)—La Mesa Police seek public help to locate Hispanic male suspect who robbed the WalMart store’s garden center in Grossmont Center at gunpoint on August 24 at 4:10 p.m.

The suspect was wearing a black and red “Angels” ball cap, black shirt with white print “All My Friends Are Walkers”, a black and yellow backpack, and dark pants. He is described as a large Hispanic male, approximately 30-35 years of age, 5'9", 275-300 pounds, with particularly dark skin and very short hair.

According to police, the man selected a bottle of glue, brought it to the garden center register and presented a $1.00 bill to the cashier. When the cashier opened the cash drawer, the suspect put a gun on the counter and pointed it towards the cashier. The suspect verbally demanded money and the cashier put an undetermined amount of money into a WalMart bag.  The suspect fled on foot away from WalMart and was not located.

The gun presented by the suspect was a dark semi-automatic type handgun.
