March 13, 2024 (San Diego’s East County) – County Supervisors, at a Flood Control District meeting today, approved continuation of storm drain emergency repairs in several unincorporated communities, following catastrophic flooding on January 22 that overwhelmed county stormwater drains.

Emergency repairs approved on Feb. 28 include two projects already completed, on Ildica Court in Spring Valley and Dogwood Lane in Hidden Meadows.  Today, Supervisors approved a continuing need for emergency storm drain work at these additional sites:

  • 1243 & 1247 Purdy Street, Spring Valley
  • 9602 Casa de la Torre Court, Casa de Oro
  • 3150 Rio Way, Spring Valley
  • 4362 & 4368 Edgewood Court, Casa de Oro
  • 8575 Los Coches Road, Lakeside
  • 2544 Buena Flores, Fallbrook

The approval authorizes repair or replacement of damaged storm drains, removing clogs and debris as well as emergency sinkhole repairs.

Total repairs are estimated at over $5.3 million, to be paid through the existing Flood Control District Fund balance.
