July 17, 2023 (El Cajon) -- El Cajon is gearing up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its National Night Out event, a milestone for a community event that has been fostering positive interactions between law enforcement and the local community. This year’s event, set to be the largest ever hosted, will take place on Tuesday, August 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot at Parkway Plaza Mall in El Cajon.
National Night Out is a cherished tradition that brings together law enforcement agencies and community members, providing an invaluable opportunity for open dialogue and building stronger, safer neighborhoods. With a diverse range of activities and attractions, this year’s event is poised to exceed expectations and create unforgettable experiences for attendees of all ages.
A major highlight of the 40th anniversary celebration is the addition of a thrilling fitness competition, offering participants the chance to showcase their strength and endurance as they challenge our officers through obstacles.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event will feature a live band, Whiskey Ridge, setting the stage for an evening of country music and line dancing. A spacious dance floor will be available for those eager to show off their moves, ensuring a lively and enjoyable evening for all.
And for those looking to meet some San Diego celebrity athletes, the San Diego Wave will be attending with a mini pitch setup to play in.
National Night Out has always been a family-friendly affair, and this year is no exception.
