May 14, 2019 (Lakeside) -- The Lakeside-based Foundation for Allied Health & EMS Education (FAHEE) will host a fundraising evening at The Hills Pub in La Mesa on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 5 to 9 p.m.  The Foundation provides scholarships for qualified students pursuing careers in emergency medicine at East County’s EMSTA College.  View flyer.

Sarah Yohe won the first scholarship awarded under FAHEE’s new “Fund the Next Generation of EMS” Program last November. Yohe, a member of EMSTA Paramedic Class 31, is now on her way to becoming a licensed paramedic serving San Diego County.

Rick Foehr, President of EMSTA College and a member of the Foundation’s board, said “we are especially proud of the award to Sarah. Young men and women of her caliber will define the future of EMS in our region.” According to Foehr, the FAHEE scholarship initiative is opening the door to EMS education and certification for capable young people with a strong desire to serve community but need financial assistance.
