July 6, 2011 (Lakeside)--Jakeb Otto Hume, of Lakeside, was found not guilty last month of all charges, including murder, stemming from the Dec. 3, 2009 stabbing of then-29 year-old David Fleming Jr. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. outside of a party on Riverview Rd. and Water Hill Rd. in Lakeside.

“Everything was stacked against Jakeb at the trial,” said Hume’s mother. “But, we stood by him, we knew he was innocent.

According to Hume’s video “Love Versus Hate,” Fleming, reportedly a known skinhead, was one of the individuals who chased Hume down the street following his ejection from the party for singing.

The trial, which lasted two weeks, took place at the East County Superior Court. Along with being exonerated of murder, Hume was acquitted for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and personal affliction of bodily injury.
