March 12, 2024 (San Diego’s East County) – If you think your vote doesn’t matter, take a look at the latest results in the 79th Assembly District, where the top two candidates will advance to a November run-off.

While La Mesa Councilman Colin Parent is still solidly in the lead with 39.75%, or 21,028 votes, the race for second is razor thin. The latest results Sunday March 10, Lemon Grove Mayor Racquel Vasquez' lead over educator Dr. LaShae Sharp-Collins has shrunk to just eight votes, 30.14% to 30.11%.

Countywide there are still 30,000 ballots left to count.  While it’s unclear how many of those are in the 79th Assembly district, one thing is clear:  every vote counts in this close contest.

Am I correct or just confused by all the pro-Parent Mailers

I've received a lot of Mailers from those supporting Colin Parent, when I say a lot, I mean more than I've ever received ever! It seems to imply that Colin Parent is the Endorsed Choice of Democrats, but then, I get only a couple Mailers that say LaShae Sharp-Collins is the San Diego County Democrats Choice. How are we supposed to know the difference? Thank You
