ABOUT KNSJ: On July 4, 2013, KNSJ 89.1 FM launched as an independent, people-powered radio station in San Diego, where  airwaves were dominated by corporate media. KNSJ’s mission was to be a catalyst for an informed community, to enable networking for social justice, and to empower members to create high-quality radio for people and viewpoints historically marginalized by commercial media.  A decade later, mainstream media is more monopolized than ever and rampant spread of misinformation makes KNSJ’s independent, people-powered media outlet more critical than ever to protect our democracy.
