MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN PINE VALLEY CRASH

September 19, 2023  (Pine Valley)—A 56-year San Diego man missed a curve while driving a motorcycle Sunday afternoon southbound on Sunrise Highway, around 1.5 miles north of Old Highway 80 in Pine Valley. He struck a guardrail and was ejected, landing approximately 100 feet down an embankment.

The motorcyclist was transported by helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this crash,” says Officer Jared Grieshaber with the California Highway Patrol. 

The identity of the deceased will be released through the Medical Examiner’s Office after notification of his family.
