September 16, 2017 (Ramona) - Caltrans Maintenance crews will close a two-block portion of Maine Street/State Route 67 (SR-67) from Wynola Street to Rotanzi Street in Ramona, Sunday from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. for tree pruning and removing dead wood. Signs will be posted directing motorist around the closure.

The tree maintenance will require closing two to three blocks of SR-67 at a time between Wynola Street and Third Street in Ramona, Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m.-5 a.m., through the end of October.

Caltrans partnered with the Ramona Tree Trust to identify specific Eucalyptus trees along SR-67 requiring pruning, thinning, or removal of deadwood to maintain sight distance for drivers and ensure stability of the trees.

Caltrans thanks the Ramona community for its patience while this work is being performed.

Motorists are reminded to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment in the project area. The work schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
