January 25, 2015 (Santee) - EMSTA College, in Santee, has received new institutional accreditation from the "Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools" (ACICS) that will allow students seeking a career as a paramedic to seek financial aid. EMSTA will also be able to provide AA degrees for their paramedic students.
Rick Foehr, Program Director and founder of EMSTA College, said, "This is an exciting time for us! With this accreditation, we can now start to award financial aid for our students, which will start happening in the next 6 to 9 months once we complete the Title IV process."
EMSTA College is a private postsecondary school and has been licensed by the state of California with the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) since June 2005. The school was granted programmatic accreditation by CAAHEP in November 2007 for the Paramedic Program. EMSTA will hold two Paramedic classes, starting in January and September, respectfully; eighteen EMT classes, offered day and evenings, and six Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1) classes in 2015.
EMSTA's Mission is to prepare students to become the most competent and compassionate care givers in the field of Emergency Prehospital Medicine and Allied Health fields, who will meet state and national expectations within those professions.
