July 3, 2019 (Ramona) -- Visitors at the Begent Ranch got hands-on artistic experiences at Ramona’s eclectic new event, the Anomar Arts Festival, last weekend. The festival is the creation of the 2CreateGallery and The Art Center of Ramona, with a goal to help everyone explore the world of art.
Throughout the event, art “collaborators” helped guests get creative and discover the joy of art.
Miss Julian and miss Teen Julian tried their hands at painting. Other youngsters delighted in fairy wings in the festival’s entry area.
Outside, strolling past an organic vegetable garden and fields abloom in wild sage and yellow daisies, guests marveled at an electric giraffe that moves as children pet it (a creation by Lindsay Lawler once displayed at the White House) . An electric cockroach also scurried past.
A metal pumpkin carriage designed by Wiley Weldy and Dawn Sardiñas inspired princess dreams in youthful onlookers.
Warren Bacon led a banjo sing-along under the premise that “Singing promotes good health.”
Dee Smith from Giddy-Up Cowgirl taught guests how to create their own etched copper on enamel jewelry. Visitors could also seek nirvana by participating in a yoga session free to all who paid a $15 entry fee. Admission for children 12 and under was free.
Visitors could also bid on silent auction items including original paintings.
If you missed this year’s event, organizers hope to make this an annual event. Learn more at www.AnomarFestival.com.
